About Drew

Drew Alan Tompkins is the Director of Advocacy and Policy. His work focuses on educating state decision makers on NJ WEC’s policy priorities and advocating for legislation to protect our state’s environment, workplaces, and clean energy.

Drew is a seasoned government relations professional, and prior to joining NJ WEC, Drew worked at two other New Jersey environmental nonprofits. Throughout his career, he has been successful in advocating for a wide variety of policies from wildlife protection and land preservation to responsible renewable energy development. He has testified before the legislature on dozens of pieces of legislation as well as the state budget, presented at multiple conferences on responsible offshore wind development, and led the largest, most successful land preservation coalition in New Jersey. Before working in government relations, Drew worked on several political campaigns.

Drew has a Masters of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in Economics from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
